Proudly Part Of The Community Of Sydney Catholic Schools

Why choose us?

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Belmore is an inclusive community. Our constantly developing teachers foster critical thinking and a passion for lifelong learning that ensures all students achieve their potential.

Our students develop skills through authentic educational experiences that deepen their Catholic faith. St Joseph’s was established in the St Mary Mackillop and Josephite traditions, inspiring our school’s values of inclusion, respect, responsibility and success. The link to the parish and school is strong, bringing together our collaborative and diverse community.

Principal’s Message

It is with great joy that I welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Belmore. We are a primary school where faith, learning, and community come together to nurture every child.

Founded on the rich Josephite tradition and inspired by St Mary MacKillop’s vision to “never see a need without doing something about it,” our school provides a caring and inclusive environment where each child is known, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.

At St Joseph’s, our mission is to:

✅ Enliven faith—helping students grow in their relationship with God and live out Gospel values.

✅ Nurture relationships—building a strong, supportive community where students, families, and staff work together.

✅ Inspire learning—empowering students to be curious, engaged, and confident learners.

Guided by our vision—Growing together: I see, I care, I can—we instil in our students a sense of responsibility, compassion, and a belief in their own ability to make a difference.

I invite you to explore our website and visit our school to experience the St Joseph’s difference. We would love to welcome your family into our vibrant and faith-filled community.

Mrs Kelly Pisani

Principal

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School BelmoreHistory
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Belmore was established by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1921 and is located in the Canterbury Council district in the Inner West region of Sydney. The Josephites cared for the school community until 1985, when the first lay principal was appointed.

Charism
Though the Josephite Sisters no longer reside in the community, the school continues to give witness to Mary MacKillop’s vision. It is this vision that drives our school community and is evidenced by our diverse multiculturalism, variety of faith practices and commitment to individualised learning. Currently, the school caters for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6 and includes a high proportion of students with a language background other than English.
